How it works

1

We read every storefront

For each app we ask Apple's own store pages in all 175 regions for the app price and the top in-app purchases, exactly as a local customer sees them.

2

One currency, one table

Prices are converted with the day's exchange rates and laid out in a single table, every plan in its own column, so the cheapest region for each is obvious.

3

Changes are kept

Each refresh is compared with the last. When Apple or the developer changes a price, the change is recorded and shown on the app's page.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the same app cost different amounts in different countries?

Apple lets developers set prices per region, and Apple's own price tiers are adjusted for local taxes, currency and purchasing power. The result is that a subscription can cost several times more in one country than in another.

Where does the data come from?

Directly from Apple: the iTunes lookup service for each app's price and availability, and each region's App Store page for in-app purchase prices. Exchange rates come from ExchangeRate-API and are refreshed daily.

How often are prices updated?

Every app is re-checked in every region at least once a day while people are looking at it. The time of the last check is shown on each app's page.

Why don't I see every in-app purchase?

Apple's store pages list each app's most popular in-app purchases, usually up to ten. Purchases that never appear there can't be compared.

Are the prices accurate?

They are the prices Apple shows to a customer in that region, including tax. Converted figures are estimates: your bank's exchange rate and foreign transaction fees will differ.

Can I buy from a cheaper region?

Prices follow your Apple Account's country or region. Changing it requires a valid payment method from that country and cancelling active subscriptions first. Check Apple's terms and the developer's before you do.
